It’s an American Christmas on The American Sound, 6 pm Saturday
There are as many ways to celebrate Christmas in America as there are Americans. Some celebrations are big, spirited family affairs. Others are destination vacations on sandy beaches, while still others are quiet events with only those nearest and dearest.
I consider myself to be fortunate to have the best of the big-and-spirited and small-and-quiet varieties, depending on which side of the family I happen to be celebrating Christmas with. But really, each year even those who are not physically present with me on Christmas Day are still with me in heart and in the spirit of the season.
I hope you’ll join me Saturday for spirited music for Christmas on The American Sound, Saturday at 6 pm. We’ll go to the movies with music from some of America’s classic Christmas films. We’ll hear early American music and reflect on the turning point of the American Revolutionary War – George Washington’s Christmas Gambit. And with Don Gillis Symphony No. 2: A Symphony of Faith, we’ll celebrate hope at this most hopeful time of year.
I look forward to sharing An American Christmas with you on The American Sound, Saturday at 6 pm on Classical 101!
