With long time host Christopher Purdy at the helm, Classical 101 (101.1 FM) will be broadcasting one of the mightiest works of all time – Mahler’s “Resurrection†Symphony LIVE this Saturday night, October 5th at 8 pm. The performance opens the 2013-14 season of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni will lead the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, featured guest vocalists Dominique Labelle (soprano) and Sasha Cooke (mezzo-soprano), as well as an off-stage brass ensemble in this mega event about life and death.
This will also be the official debut of Jean-Sébastien Roy as the CSO’s new concertmaster, brought to you live from Columbus’ historic Ohio Theatre. Undoubtedly this will be one of the concert standouts in the 2013-14 season.
And you can listen in only on Classical 101, brought to you by WOSU Public Media in collaboration with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
