Highly anticipated documentary is next segment in Emmy® award-winning series

COLUMBUS, OHIO, JANUARY 17, 2014 – “Columbus Neighborhoods, the Emmy award-winning documentary series and community engagement project, returns with the premiere of Clintonville on Sunday, January 26 at 8 p.m. on WOSU TV.
With a history that dates back to Adena earthen mounds, Clintonville has transitioned over the last 200 years from a farming community to an urban neighborhood. Its famous residents have included Bill Moose, the last of the Wyandots in the Ohio region; Jason Bull, an influential conductor on the Underground Railroad; and legendary gambler Pat Murnan, who is credited with keeping the mob out of Columbus.
Rollercoasters and streetcars have also rumbled through its landscape, but Clintonville has retained its quaint charms and natural ties, staying connected to its roots with beautiful parks and ravines, community markets and neighborhood gardens.

This is the eighth television documentary to air as part of WOSU Public Media’s Columbus Neighborhoods, a project originally developed to celebrate the city’s bicentennial with a focus on the rich cultural past of Columbus’ historic neighborhoods. The series was honored with the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s 2012 Artistic Excellence Award and has received numerous Emmy Awards.
In addition to Clintonville, the next four neighborhoods to be featured are Worthington, Bexley, The Tri-Villages (Upper Arlington, Marble Cliff and Grandview Heights), and New Americans, which will look at Columbus’ growing immigrant population.
